Energy and raw-material extraction accounted for 13.1 percent of gross industrial production in 1986 metallurgy contributed 8.3 percent engineering, 25.6 percent chemicals, 19.1 percent light industry, 12.9 percent food processing, 16.8 percent building materials, 3.2 percent and other miscellaneous industry, 1 percent.
